If you've ever wanted to catch large sea trout the time to do that is NOW! Large trout are flourishing in the shallow water flats in the Mosquito Lagoon and can be found actively feeding. "It's a total Artificial Bite and these usually wary fish are biting hard almost all day long," explains Captain Richard Bradley of Lagooner Fishing Guides.
Although the cold fronts have been few and far between the ongoing bite for redfish and trout has been solid. Look for weedless artificials to be some of the most popular and effective lures in the shallowest parts of the lagoon.
Large sea trout are common for anglers that can make probing cast into deeper pockets in the sea grass.
Indian Summers in Florida produce some spectacular fishing along the coastlines, both inshore and offshore of Cocoa Beach, east of Orlando. The large drum have been spawning in large numbers along the beaches.

Fishing Reports for Brevard County
Reviewed by Captain Richard Bradley on Last modified: February 26 2017 23:18:09.
Brevard's best fishing is often in April with cobia migrating north, tripletail spawning nearshore and an occassional tarpon. The king mackerel have been chewing hard on the reefs and there's been a few Mahi Mahi caught on the weedlines offshore of Canaveral. We encouragle our anglers to be open minded and look inshore if the wind blows and/or the seas are rough for redfish and sea trout, the inshore fishing can be wonderful this time of year.
Get Ready, May is almost here and April is the warm up month for Port Canaveral's tripletail fishing. If the seas stay calm long enough my good friend Captain Scott Lum and I will be working our favorite tripletail haunts off Port Canaveral's seashore and pulling in many fish over 20 pounds. Port Canaveral holds virtually every tripletail record to date and some tipping the scales over forty pounds. Look us up late in the month of April and into May and early summer for some great tripletail fishing off Port Canaveral, Florida.
