August is typically one of the calmest months on the ocean in Brevard County. Calm water and southeast tradewinds make for a combination making gin clear waters and great fishing for those wanting to take a day to relax before closing out the summer. As usual, king mackerel is a consistent catch, but cobia are making a showing when the water is clear. Coldwater upwellings and clear water make August a great month to look for cobia, but if the water stays warm, tarpon, jacks and bonita will be ready-and-willing to take a bait.
Canaveral's Tripletail fishing has been incredable for the last several Augusts and this summer's TT fishing has been no less than awesome. As summer goes away so do the tripletail around Port Canaveral but we will have flurries of bites that will produce rather remarkable sized fish on a day-to-day basis. Our anglers have been boating many fish in excess of twenty pounds and occassionally weighing one in over 25 pounds this summer. If the weather cooperates and we don't get any strong winds or tropical depressions, this August should prove to be a great one for tripletail and the persistant angler.

Lagooner Fishing Guides Review / Facebook
Inshore and Offshore Charter Fishing near Orlando and Cocoa Beach, Florida. Catch redfish, sea trout, tarpon, snook and many other saltwater gamefish aboard the world famous Lagooner flats fishing boat with renowned Captain Richard Bradley.
Captain Richard worked hard to put fish in the boat. We were able to bring in a few big Reds and some trout, and a couple keepers to take home for dinner. It's always the hope to be able to catch lots of fish, but fishing is fishing and there are no guarantees; the time of the year we travel to Florida also has an impact on our fshing success. This last trip out with Captain Richard my wife came along and thorougly enjoyed the experience and catching the big Reds. She is looking forward to our next trip to Florida and another fishing trip with Captain Richard.
